I have upgraded to macOS Mojave (ver. 10.14.x) and cannot get references in the Word document

Solution:

The default Mojave security setting does not allow EndNote to transfer information to the Word document.
Consequently, you must change the settings to use the «EndNote X9» toolbar in Word.

Procedure for changing security settings:

• Quit Word (and other Office applications)
  
• Select the «Apple menu» () in the top left corner
  
• Select «System Preferences»
• Select «Security & Privacy» 
• Click the «Privacy» tab
• Select the category «Automation», and make sure both options are checked as shown in the figure below.
  Note: The lower left padlock must be opened in order to change the setting
    
• Restart Word
