I’m not getting the EndNote toolbar in Word

Solution:

The toolbar in Word that provides the connection to EndNote is based on so-called macros that must be in place and enabled.

There may be several reasons why the EndNote toolbar is not installed in Word:

• EndNote was installed before Word
• Extensive updates to Word
• Word were running when EndNote was installed

How to reinstall the toolbar:

• Quit Word (and other Office applications)
• Go to EndNote
• Select «Customizer» from the «EndNote X9» menu
• Check that you have installed «Cite While You Write» (the other selections can also be advantageously selected, but it does not affect the toolbar in Word)
  
• Click the «Next» buttons to accept the next selections
• Restart Word to make sure the «EndNote X9» toolbar is in place
